Scope of works: The former Treasury Building from 1919 became part of the now known Intercontinental Hotel since 1982. The architectural detailing and façade are fine examples of ‘Victorian Neo-Classical’ and ‘Italian Palazzo’. As well as the ashlar stonework, decorative sandstone features are present throughout the facade. RJC was appointed to complete the external sandstone restoration and internal heritage joinery works. The scope included 45 sqm of sandstone façade restoration, 58-ton stone replacement, 2200m of repointing works, roof restoration, 82 heritage windows repair, 42 timber doors repair, French polish heritage grand stairs, parquetry flooring restoration and other timber joinery works.
