Project Overview

RJC Group delivered stonemasonry works to the Royal Botanic Gardens palisade fence along Tarpeian Way, a significant heritage setting adjacent to the Sydney Opera House. The project involved conservation and reinstatement works to the fence line and associated stone elements within a historically important public location.

Scaffolding installation across more than 400 metres in three staged sections
Removal of existing palisade fencing
Installation of 350 plinth stones and sandstone columns
Restoration of palisade fencing including base cutting, coating removal and stainless steel extension works
Application of zinc-rich priming and Murobond Bridge paint to restored metalwork
Reinstatement of fencing using traditional hot molten lead dressed to a rounded profile

Delivering conservation works across a long linear heritage frontage within a highly prominent public setting
Matching new stone and restored metal elements to the existing heritage character of the precinct
Managing staged access and sequencing over a 12-month project timeline
Delivering specialised reinstatement methods across both metal and stone elements
