Conservation and Repairs to Confessionals St Marys

Scope of works: RJC have been appointed to carry out stone and lead works to the exteriors of St Mary’s Cathedral.

The scope of work consists:

• generally of cleaning heavily soiled stonework;
• careful removal and subsequent reinstatement of copper downpipes;
• installing new lead weatherings to tiered horizontal roof surfaces of the confessionals;
• dressing back and desalinating salt-affected stonework;
• installation of hairline stone indents;
• removal of elastomeric sealant from joints;
• repointing open and cracked joints;
• localised mortar repairs.
